We don't make the rules, but they're here to protect people from taking too much risk. And look, venture investing is supposed to be risky — we're supposed to be able to say to founders who failed, “Now what?” and if they try something different (that checks all the boxes), we consider investing again. Not everyone is set up for that kind of risk capital-wise, as fundamental and pure as their heart may be.
